We write to you as volunteers of the non profit organization, The Long View Alliance and as long time residents of the Driftless Region. Our intent is to help potentially impacted landowners and residents become more aware of the extent and impact of hundreds of large, industrial-scale wind power plants being proposed for our area.
We encourage you to click on and “zoom” into the below map to determine where land parcels (blue and pink squares) have been signed over for possible control for the development of very large wind turbines. The blue and pink tinted areas between these land parcels are locations we expect the utility developers, Pattern Energy and Invenergy LLC, to seek easements to bury high voltage electrical connector lines between the turbines. Without acquiring those easements, some or all of the turbines may not be pursued. For the sake of public safety, property values and negative impacts on local economies and natural environments, we encourage you to consider the option of refusing to have connector lines pass through your property.
